Are you considering investing in a modular deck for your glamping structures? Shelter Deck is a great decision for many reasons, but it is important that you understand the process and any factors that accompany the process. There are 3 primary considerations that a glamping business owner should make before building a modular deck. Let’s take a look at the following factors.

1. Location

The first element of modular decking to consider is the location. If your campsite has great views, this should be taken into account when deciding on deck placement. A deck can be built out over a hill or shoreline to take advantage of beautiful scenery.

Another hand, you may also need to consider existing trees or rocks in your selected location. However, trees and rocks can often be incorporated into a modular deck design, and you may not want to build a modular deck on a wooded lot without first cleaning trees. Talk to us and send us some pictures of your selected location, and our constructor will find out if this is an option for you.

2. Know the landform

The second thing to consider before building a modular glamping deck is to understand the landform. There are various landforms for glamping sites, it generally includes concert, sand land, hill, mountain, coastline, lawn grass, and riverside. These are technical consideration because different landform relates to different decking support footing solutions. Consequently, if the decking support footings do not fit the landform, it may lead to a wonky deck.
There are three footing solutions that Shelter Deck will provide:
  • Cap pile footing – designed for concert ground or any hardscape.
  • Ground screw footing – designed for sandland, hill, mountain lawn grass, coastline, and riverside.
  • Diamond pier footing – designed for lawn grass and riverside.

3. Budgetary plan

Budgetary considerations are reflected in every decision from the material you choose and the size of the decking system. In short, it is a good idea to define your budget as early as possible before building a modular decking system.
